We’ve been in business for over 40 years, and in that time we have been able to create and maintain long-term clients, and these great relationships produce excellent results. Working together starts with our clients, and this is where we differ from other builders. Northern Building looks at the project holistically and can guide and advise our clients from the very start of the project, thus ensuring value adds by delivering quality and cost efficiencies to each project. We help you understand the build by working through the basics at the beginning of the building journey and involve our clients as much or as little as they desire.
A starting point could be a site investigation, a cost plan, or a particular consultant to deliver valuable information that we have identified. We break each project down systematically; or let’s just say, we take the time to discover the best paths forward so that our clients know they are in good hands, with a management system in place that ensures a building project is delivered by experts, and on time.

As licensed building practitioners under the NSW Building Commission, Northern Building brings a commitment to excellence in every project. Recognized for our expertise and adherence to stringent industry standards, we specialize in delivering high-quality construction and renovation solutions tailored to meet your needs. Having a building practitioners licence in NSW means that we are further qualified to not only construct houses and commercial buildings but also class 2, 3 or 9c buildings, as well as declaring and lodging documents in the NSW Planning Portal. Class 2 and 3 buildings include apartments/units, hotels and hostels. 9c buildings are residential care facilities and aged care buildings.
Awards
Awards are tricky – they take us away from our core business of building (we’re not PR consultants nor we are marketing experts), so spending months and months on award applications is not our thing. However, in 2009, we decided we would give it a go just once, to really test our claims of being the great builder we know we are. Northern Building entered 3 x projects to the Master Builders Association Excellence in Housing Awards, we won in the 3 x categories we entered. They were:
- Best house in the category of $2.5Mil to $3.0Mil
- Best use in Timber
- Alterations/Additions/Renovations to $350K
In addition, Northern Building won two awards for an innovative home in Manly that was nationally acclaimed for its sustainability and design and was the venue for the launch of BASIX – the NSW Government’s Building Sustainability Index. The home won the following awards:
- Francis Greenway Award
- Manly Civic Design Award
